Succumbing To The Gleek Movement

Last night at dinner we watched the first 4 episodes of the first season of Glee. I had heard great things about the show but was skeptical about entertainment highlighting the trials and tribulations of singing, dancing high schoolers.
The singing and dancing were hokey, the plot was transparent, and the altruistic glee coach irritating. But I loved it anyway! While some of the humor is so obvious you dread its arrival, other characters and situations have the subtle and clever kind of humor that sneaks up on you and makes you wonder whether your hearing is right. Or more importantly if it was just said in a high school, and to a teenage audience.
But if you are doubtful, and I understand why you would be, succumb to your curiosities for Jane Lynch. She takes the cake in this show and is the reason I will continue to watch the rest of the season. Her brass commentary should be stitched on a pillow…
I’m going to ask you to smell your armpits. That’s the smell of failure, and it’s stinking up my office.
