What Ever Happened To Baby Jane?

I watched the movie What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? last night, and wooowee that’s a lot of crazy! I found myself wringing my hands and biting my nails in discomfort as I waited for one of the sisters, Joan Crawford and Bette Davis, to do the other in. Or at the very least expose the lunacy in their situation.
What I loved about this thriller is the lack of verbal explanation. It required the audience to watch and take on a larger role in the character analysis. What I struggled with when watching the movie play out was the legal and cultural differences of that era. I wanted to yell at Joan Crawford, tell her to call the police, to take her sister down for identity theft! I wanted to warn the supporting cast members, tell them to be less trusting and more diligent in their pursuit of justice!
Of course, I am well aware that much of my ideals and sense of judicial justice are a development of too much Law and Order so I am most likely fighting for inaccurate realities.
All in all, a good thriller. Watch it with someone who will hold your hand!
