Unintentional Wildlife Reserves

I am just marveling over this…

I was reading in the Economist yesterday that war stricken areas are unintentionally becoming wildlife reserves. For example, the waters off the coast of Kenya, which are infested with Somali pirates, has scared away fishermen, and as a result are now infested with fish as well. This example is among many.
