Best of the Old West

February 5, 2010 § Leave a comment

Yesterday was Thursday, which meant dinner and a movie. We watched Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, which was surprisingly good. Or maybe not so surprising since you already know how I feel about Robert Redford, and of course who doesn’t love Paul Newman. Either way, I take back any prejudices I had towards old westerns. This movie had all the elements of a true classic; bromance, violence, suspense, love, and comedy. Plus, a lot of good one- liners.

So keeping in theme, we had cowboy chili, corn bread, and Sierra Nevada beer.

While the food turned out great and the movie was good, the highlight of the evening for me had to be the movie’s soundtrack. It is a collection of the most ridiculous and out of place tunes I could image for a film about bank robbers.

Oh well, four stars!
