Marketing Tricks of the Restaurant Trade

December 14, 2009 § Leave a comment

I had to start my holiday shopping this weekend and despite my best efforts, managed to make my wish list a little bit longer. New to this little bit longer list is William Poundstone’s book:

Priceless: The Myth of Fair Value (and How to Take Advantage of It)

The book dissects the marketing tricks built into menus. You may have never realized that you always order the item in the upper right-hand corner. It’s okay, I didn’t either. Get a better taste of what this book has to offer, check out the article in the New York Magazines’ Restaurants section.
